Janice joined Sullivan Festeryga in 2017, and practices in the areas of civil litigation with an emphasis on insurance law, criminal, and family law. She regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice to advocate for her clients.
Janice is a professional, meticulous and practical advocate focused on serving individuals, businesses, and insurance companies. She excels in strategically leading all aspects of legal research and writing, and litigation to mitigate risks for her clients. Her additional success in driving efficiency and effectiveness in trial advocacy allows her to view each case with a global perspective. Additionally, Janice actively seeks cost-effective solutions and takes the necessary steps to negotiate prior to trial.
While attending law school, she dedicated herself to volunteering at Windsor’s Community Legal Aid Clinic, representing low-income and vulnerable clients in the areas of provincial offences, criminal law and small claims matters. Janice had the opportunity to independently prepare for and advocate at trials before graduating law school. By her third year, she was promoted as Group Leader and mentored her own team of law students. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor in 2017.
Janice enjoys being highly active and is an avid traveller. She is a weightlifter, snowboarder, and a retired breakdancer. She also plays volleyball, squash, and badminton. So far, travelling the world has taken her to South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Cuba, Italy, Hawaii, and the Netherlands. During her time at McMaster, where she studied to become a concert pianist, she was on the ultimate frisbee team and was a pacer on the Dragonboat team. She is also bilingual and provides her services in English and Korean.
